NAS Synology Setup to Icedrive
These are instructions on how to setup a connection to icedrive from a Synology app to backup your data!
NAS package setup
- At NAS, Make sure that the WebDav application is downloaded from the package center
- At NAS, Use the [Cloud Sync] app within synology [Package Center], then select Webdav.
Icedrive enable access
- At icedrive login, enter icedrive [2FA & Access] -> Enable Webdav -> Show Access Key
- At NAS:
- Server address: https://webdav.icedrive.io
- User account: Icedrive Email
- Password: is the Icedrive Access Key from #3
NAS syncing task setup
- Now set up the syncing task
- Connection name: icedrive
- Local path: local path to sync
- Remote path: remove path to sync
- Sync direction: Upload local changes only
- No data encryption as it is a bit of a pain to decrypt need to download some decryption software from icedrive and then know the password key.
- Let the remove files be removed by default as this will be a mirroring.
- Schedule settings -> Enable schedule settings which will run constantly.
As my NAS is a separate entity and I don't sync that often from linux using
rsync this won't be an issue to have it constantly running and monitoring.
Just let it sync, the Syncing.will be reported, you can keep an eye on it if
you would like :)
- A Cloud syncing icon will now appear in the status panel on the top right,
just let the NAS do its thing!
