Mum 70 Solid

This was a portrait I completed for my mum's 70th

I really struggled with this one, I think it was the combination of:

1. It being a self portrait
2. Two portraits
3. More of the body shown

It took quite a lot of fiddling with GIMP to get everything to mesh together, I think the background as always was the key which was taken from as of yet an unfinished piece of:

I am still not quite happy with my portrait aspect and am very tempted to perform some retroactive editing!
